The Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority guidance states that Centre’s should provide a costed treatment plan. This plan is an estimate of the cost for the main elements of your treatment, however there may be some variation following any test results and further investigations may be required, at which stage another plan would be discussed with you.
The following information is intended to provide you with details of the different Financial Agreements that will identify your treatment requirements and ultimately the overall cost of your self funded treatment with Aberdeen Fertility Centre.
Once you have agreed to the relevant costed treatment plan(s) payment must be made prior to any treatment being undertaken.
Consultation
Your first consultation at the Centre will last approximately one hour where any investigations and screening tests required prior to commencing your treatment will be discussed with you. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and receive written information.
Investigations
The list provided on these costed treatment plans are comprehensive and not all tests will be required by all patients.
Screening
Screening tests are required if they have not been done by your GP or elsewhere in the last 12 months. These are not required prior to every cycle and therefore should be viewed as one off costs.
IVF/ICSI
The main package for In Vitro Fertilisation Cycle (IVF) includes all monitoring, egg collection, embryo transfer and follow-up appointment. The quantity of stimulatory drugs can vary depending on each individuals response which can incur additional costs. If ICSI becomes necessary there is an additional cost.
Frozen Replacement Cycle
The main package for Frozen Replacement Cycle Transfer Cycle includes elective single embryo transfer of frozen embryos but this cost varies depending on whether it follows a single or double fresh embryo transfer cycle. Where elective single embryo transfer is undertaken the cost for frozen a replacement cycle is reduced.
Natural/SO/IUI
The main package for Natural/SO/IUI includes all monitoring, stimulatory drugs for SO, insemination and follow-up appointment. The quantity of stimulatory drugs can vary depending on each individuals response which can incur additional costs.
Donor Insemination
The costs may vary if the donor is known to you or if it is a donor the Centre has recruited for your treatment. Donors recruited by the Centre are shared between two recipients, however if the donor is donating just for you the full cost of the donor consultations, counselling and screening will be incurred.
Egg/Embryo Recipient
The costs may vary if the donor is known to you or if it is a donor the Centre has recruited for your treatment. Donors recruited by the Centre are shared between two recipients, however if the donor is donating just for you the full cost of the donor consultations, counselling and screening will be incurred.
