Donors are people from all walks of life - there is no such thing as a standard donor. What they have in common is a desire to help people to achieve the pregnancy they otherwise couldn't have.

Embryo Donation - Donated embryos have originally been created for a couple using their own (or donor) sperm and eggs and cryopreserved for their future use. If a couple decide they no longer wish to use these cryopreserved embryos themselves, they may choose to donate them for use by another couple.

Update October 2011 - We appreciate that donors have a strong desire to help others and will continue to come forward altruistically however in view of the recent press release from HFEA, with regard to compensation payments for egg and sperm donors, we are awaiting further guidance from the authority on this matter before taking any action in this regard.
