First Visit

Fertility Clinic

At your first visit to the Fertility Clinic you will have the opportunity to discuss your particular concerns with a consultant or senior doctor. Your first visit can last up to 45 minutes and we encourage both partners to attend all clinic appointments. If your GP has carried out any tests these can be discussed further and any repeat tests or further investigations arranged e.g. more blood tests, scans or further sperm tests.  

Welcome to the Fertility Clinic (0087)

If it is appropriate treatment options may be discussed and information given. However it is usual for a follow up appointment to be arranged.

Assisted Reproduction Unit

At the first visit to The Assisted Reproduction Unit the couple will spend approximately an hour with the doctor and fertility nurse. The doctor will check both the couples history and obtain consent for the treatment. The nurse will demonstrate the injection technique and discuss the scheduling of treatment. If you have any queries throughout this visit please ask the staff.

For couples travelling from a distance the man may be asked to submit a semen sample in the morning at the andrology department.
