Quality Manager, Alison McTavish, has been involved in the Centre since it opened in 1986, ensures that standards are maintained and we continually review and improve our services.
The Aberdeen Fertility Centre has responded to the scientific advances to enable patient access to the most up to date treatments within the Laboratory. Within the Centre, we have used time lapse photography (Embryoscopes), to monitor development, and aid embryo selection, since 2014. The Laboratory Manager, David Welsh, is continually reviewing the technology and new techniques, that emerge within the scientific literature.
The Aberdeen Fertility Centre is recognised as a national training centre for medical staff wishing to become Consultants in Reproductive Medicine in the future. We are the only Centre in Scotland to have this status. Senior Charge Nurse Valerie Peddie was also Chair of the Royal College of Nursing Fertility Nurses Group for several years and through her leadership, the nursing team have developed skills in all aspects of fertility nursing.
